(N) Selteteigen Cattery

The cattery name was registered by FIFe in 1993, and the origin is from the farm Selte in Ringerike, close to the small town Hönefoss. My father was born on Selte, at his grandparents. The farm is sold out of the family, but my father still owns a small piece of forest that he bought from his grandfather many, many years ago. A small piece of land or forest is in Norwegian called a TEIG, and Selteteigen was chosen for the cattery name.
The cattery is located in the small community Algarheim, aprx 50 Kilometres North-East of Oslo, close to Oslo Airport Gardermoen.
All the cats are walking freely around the house, and they also have a small outdoor yard where they are playing all year around. Yes, even in winter. Some of them just loves to play in the snow.

The photo must have been taken 1945-1950 at the entrance to the farmhouse. The farm was sold out of the family in 1950.

The couple is my granduncle Einar and his wife Gudrun.

Note the cat in the young lady's arms.
